Katrina Accent Tables — Salvaged Elm, Hand-Crafted Mortice Joints
The Katrina accent tables are one-of-a-kind pieces, lovingly hand-crafted from salvaged elm sourced from villages in the Shandong and Gansu Provinces of Northern China. Their unique, organic nature means each table is genuinely different from the last — every knot, grain variation, and natural marking a quiet record of the timber's life before it became furniture.
Crafted with traditional mortice joints, the Katrina tables are as well-made as they are characterful. Available as a standalone Tall End Table, or in three nesting sizes — Tall, Medium, and Low — that group together beautifully as a coffee table set, filling a living room with warmth and considered layering at different heights.
Equally at home as a side table in a living room, a bedside table in a bedroom, or a low surface in a bathroom, the Katrina adapts effortlessly to any space that values natural materials and honest craft.
Styling
Group the three nesting sizes together as a coffee table set for a sculptural, layered arrangement, or use the Tall End Table alone beside a sofa or armchair. Their organic elm grain pairs naturally with linen upholstery and warm woven textiles nearby.

Reclaimed Elm
Natural wood is a living material. Over time, your piece may develop small splits, knots, divots, or joint lines — these are character marks, not flaws. Timber will also expand and contract slightly with changes in temperature and humidity, particularly across New Zealand's seasons. This is completely normal.
Care & Maintenance
* Clean spills promptly with a clean, damp cloth
* Dust regularly with a soft cloth
* Use tablecloths, runners, coasters, and placemats to protect surfaces from heat and scratches
* Always lift furniture when moving — never drag or push, as this can loosen joinery
* Avoid direct sunlight, which can cause cracking, splintering, or colour change. If furniture is in a sunny spot, move decorative items regularly to prevent spotting
* Avoid polishes or waxes containing high levels of silicon or petroleum distillate
