Whisky House
We wanted to create a home that felt ruggedly handsome, perfect for a rural setting. But it also had to be a place where family and friends could feel cozy and welcome.
To achieve this, we used a mix of textures and colors. We snuck in some black accents throughout the house to tie everything together, but kept things warm and inviting by focusing on natural materials like wool, linen, and wood.
For the color palette, we drew inspiration from the beautiful countryside outside. Earthy ochres, deep blues, and greens create a sense of peace and connect the indoors to the stunning rural landscape.
We added colour by tying earthy Ochre, Deep Blues and Greens together. We wanted the pallette to draw you back into the amazing rural scenery.

I am seriously blown away by the talent that Kate & Jodi from Curated Wanaka have!!
I worked with Kate from the very beginnings of my house build where Kate helped to choose everything from floorings to tap wear to tiles to kitchen to laundry to curtains to feature walls to lighting....everything you could possibly think of!
I then commissioned Kate & Jodi to completely set up my home from every piece of furniture to cutlery, pots, pans, toaster, jug, hand made pottery cups/bowls, wine glasses, herbs, spices, pantry food...the list goes on.....and on....
they spent a complete week putting my home together with a reveal at the end from them both...I was left speechless!...absolutely amazing! and to walk in and have an instant feeling of it being HOME with there little wee surprises of adding in touches that relate to you and your life is pretty special!
I really cant thank them enough!
Thank you Kate and Jodi ....(5 star rating doesn't seem enough!!)
Mountain View House
The challenge was creating a welcoming space for family and friends, all within a cozy footprint. The clients worried they'd need a bigger house, but we had a different idea! We combined the kitchen and dining area into one, making the most of the space they already had. The star of the show? A bespoke island that doubles perfectly as a dining table – genius, right?
To bring the outdoors in, we took inspiration from the stunning mountain scenery. Deep, moody blues from the peaks found their way into the kitchen cabinets, while pops of green – our client's favorite – echoed the lush landscape throughout the living area.
Now, "moody" might sound a bit heavy, but don't worry! We kept things feeling light and airy by using warm wood tones, cozy textures, and natural colors in the rest of the space. The end result? A home that feels spacious, inviting, and perfectly in tune with its beautiful surroundings.

If I could go higher than 5 stars I would do it 10 times over! Honestly, Kate and Jodi at Curated Wanaka are just incredible.
I contacted them as I was completely lost with the space that we had and knew that we needed some advice. We are useless with design, hopeless with making a plan and just wouldn't have got it right. When Kate turned up, it was like chatting to a long lost friend, she just got it, understood our frustrations, shared some thoughts & suggestions but most importantly took the time to listen to us and what our issues with the space were - straight away we knew we were onto a winner.
We chatted and she explained the process, what Curated Wanaka (which also includes her business partner Jodi) could assist with and off we went.
Before we knew it, we had designs, advice, pricing - it honestly could not have been an easier process - and they made it exciting too - guiding us to what would work.
Now that we have finished all of the renos, we just love it, but more importantly, we absolutely love the approach of Curated Wanaka. They have been absolutely incredible. The advice, the guidance, the understanding of what you need for your space is just amazing - they honestly just get it.
They are a fantastic team, I honestly couldn't speak more highly of them and the proof is in the pudding for us - we LOVE our new space.
Relaxed Living
We were tasked with designing a living room that would be perfect for conversation, board games, and cozy nights by the fire.
The homeowners wanted a space that felt sophisticated yet inviting, and that reflected the beauty of the mountain environment outside.
The furniture is arranged in a conversation-friendly way, with the sofa's facing each other around a coffee table.
The color scheme and materials used in the room reflect the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains.

We worked with Curated to source furniture for several spaces in our new build in Northlake, and everything they've helped us with has always turned out better than we could have imagined (and a heck of a lot better than we ever could have done alone!).
Kate + Jodi have been amazing through the whole process; they really understood the vibes we were going for even when we couldn't necessarily articulate it ourselves. They've been so patient, helpful and communicative, and when hiccups have happened along the way (as things inevitably do when you're building!) they've handled things wonderfully. Building is incredibly stressful, but it was such a relief that we could simply trust Kate + Jodi with the furniture details and not have to worry about that side of things at all. We will absolutely be continuing to work with them as we gradually upgrade other areas of the house as budget allows!
